Portage North of Yellowknife Canada

I expected a lot of interesting things in the arctic basin but not sandy beaches.  it was weird at the end of august to be sleeping on the beach up there.  But believe me,  the weather changes REALLY, REALLY fast up there as well.  Once within two hours we were dealing with 2 1/2 to 3 foot chop across a land locked lake.  Since it’s so relatively flat, once the wind picks up it picks UP.  But with 17 hours of daylight we just took our time and enjoyed the view.
